Fountain Pen Sketches

Been sketching up these game maps from Valorant during my off-time/queue waiting time for a game. Using my trusty cheapo Pilot Penmanship, the ‘Pilot’ post that kicked off my pen bloggy.

I still, to this day, have not gotten hold of a pen I use more frequently than the Penmanship. Primarily this is due to the fact that it comes with a pilot EF nib, which nothing I have tried so far has come close to it’s fine-ness. I have been told a Sailor will come close, but for a price point comparison of $10 vs up to $300, I think I’d rather just stick with what’s comfortable. Why replace something that works?

Though I will admit, I have recently come to acquire a pen that is has come very close, and it’s on the review list. You’ll just have to stay tuned! In the meantime, hope you enjoy these doodles I’ve done with my trusty and ever-sturdy Penmanship.

  1. I read your post and ordered two from JetPens, hit send, and remembered I had a penmanship at one time. I searched a bit, found it, cleaned it and topped it off with Iroshizuku take-sumi and I didn’t want to put it down to write this comment. Thanks for the great post and reminder – awesome pen at any price.

  2. So beautiful, your drawing!

And yes, this f*ugly Penmanship pen is a real workhorse, as are the Platinum (Carbon) Desk pen and the tiny little cute Pilot Petit pens with their brush, marker or fountain pen nibs.

Gotta love those inexpensive pens that never dry out, can be had in any purse or backpack for weeks and months and still write perfectly every time you pick them up.

    1. The penmanship is literally the greatest bang for buck I have ever spent ^_^;;;; I think one of them finally gave in, after almost 8 years, and I immediately went to buy another
